The Activity Tracking tab is a useful page for when you want to deep dive on a learner's attempts in a course.
To start, log into your course site and access the 'Measure' page on the top right:
Click on 'Activity Tracking' at the top of your Measure tab:
When you first go into this tab, the data presented will be for all courses on the site. If you are looking to drill into activity by a particular course or group of courses, simply select the course(s) from the Controls panel:
Selecting the course you want will display the activity for them.
Learner Course Activity:
This section provides a detailed overview of a leaner's activity and their interactions with activities across all their courses. You can also filter the view to focus on specific courses.
1. Course: The title of the course the learner is enrolled in
2. Enrollment Date: The timestamp of when the learner was enrolled into a course
3. Most Recent Response: The timestamp of when the learner answered their last activity
Null values means that the learner did not answer this activity.
4. Most Recent Notification: The timestamp of when the learner was sent a notification of new activities
5. Total Activities: The number of activities in the course
6. Activities Answered: The number of activities the learner has answered on their first attempt
7. Activities Retired: The number of activities the learner has mastered
To expand the data, select the arrows on the top right corner of the section:
Course Attempts - By Course:
This section displays a graph illustrating the week-by-week activity of learners in answering activities in the course(s).
Learner Activity - Activity Attempt Detail:
This table deep dives on a learner's attempts at an activity.
1. Course: The title of the course the learner is enrolled in
2. Activity Title: The title of the activity in a set
3. Notification Sent: The timestamp of when the activity was sent via email.
Null refers to activities where a notification was not sent via email about that activity ie. It is part of a batch of activities that were sent in an email notification, but this activity was not previewed in that email.
4. Activity Attempt:
- First: The learner's first attempt at answering the activity
- Subsequent: The learner's attempt after the first attempt, but is also not the last attempt ie. a repeat
- Final: The learner's last attempt at answering the activity
5. Answer Date: The date of when the learner answered the activity
