Qstream has a number of user roles that provide / limit access as needed. Every account created on your site will be assigned a user role. An overview of available roles and their access / permissions is below.
Learner:
- Default role unless otherwise specified
- Learners can receive and answer activities, view course progress on their Dashboard, view all previous courses they have been enrolled in, and edit their Profile settings.
Manager:
- Access to data for their direct reports
Reporting Manager:
- Access to course data for those courses they're assigned to
- "View Only" access to Qstream settings for those they're assigned to
Author:
- Creates and manages content; Create activities, organise activities into sets for use in one or multiple courses, and assign topics to activities for robust learning analytics.
- Authors can access everything in the “Create” section of the Menu
Program Manager:
- Creates and manages courses, including enrolling participants, defining spaced learning settings and reviewing activities included in a course.
- Complete access to all available reporting in the 'Measure' tab.
PM Author:
Combines the permissions of ‘Program Manager’ and ‘Author’ roles:
- Full control over assigned activities in your company
- Full control over assigned sets in your company
- Full control over assigned courses in your company
Admin:
- Manages company details
- Onboards and manages users and user groups
- Admins can access everything in the “Set Up” section of the Menu
Company Owner:
- Full control over your company
- Full control to set and edit company settings
- Full control over users in your company
- Full control over assigned activities in your company
- Full control over assigned sets in your company
- Full control over assigned Courses in your company
- Complete access to all available reporting
Assigning / Editing User Roles
You can make edits to a user(s) permissions within the Admin section of Qstream. To access, click on 'Set Up' on the top of your page and select 'Users'.
Search for the user whose permissions you'd like to update and press the '⋮' symbol beside their name. Then select 'View User' in the drop down.
Once you have done this, select 'Edit' and scroll down to the very bottom of the page to view the various roles you can assign to the user. Make sure to press 'Save' after assigning your desired role.
